Posted @withregram • @pawsitivepawsrescues An animal shelter in Richmond, Virginia, is looking for the individual who dumped an emaciated dog seven hours before it was found "30 minutes from death" at the shelter on Sunday.
According to reports, a security guard at Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) found the 2-year-old boxer-pit mix at 9:30 a.m. local time. The shelter immediately noticed signs that the dog was on death's door, and rushed him to a veterinarian.
Despite initial beliefs that the dog, now named Olympus, was left with the intent of being found, surveillance footage found that the apparent owner dumped the dog at 2:36 a.m. The dog miraculously "managed not to freeze to death in the seven hours he endured and pulled himself from his hiding spot to the sunshine at 9:30 a.m." wrote the shelter on Facebook.
